Secondhand Serenade adalah akustik rock band, yang dipimpin oleh vokalis dan gitaris John Vesely .Vesely telah merilis tiga album studio sampai saat ini di bawah nama Secondhand Serenade: Awake pada tahun 2007, Twist A dalam My Story pada tahun 2008 dan Hear Me Now pada tahun 2010.

Badan usaha koperasi dimiliki oleh anggota yang merupakan pemakai jasa (user). Fakta ini membedakan koperasi dengan badan usaha bentuk lain yang pemiliknya pada dasarnya adalah para penanam modal. Koperasi adalah badan usaha yang beranggotakan orang-seorang atau badan hukum koperasi dengan melandaskan kegiatannya berdasarkan prinsip koperasi sekaligus sebagai gerakan ekonomi rakyat yang berdasarkan atas asas kekeluargaan (UU No. 25 Tahun 1992). Misalnya Koperasi Unit Desa (KUD), koperasi simpan pinjam, koperasi pelajar, koperasi mahasiswa, Koperasi Pegawai Negeri (KPN), dan koperasi pasar.

Tujuan utama perkumpulan koperasi adalah memperhatikan kepentingan-kepentingan para anggota perkumpulan, dan bukan memupuk pendapatan perusahaan itu sendiri. Kepentingan kebendaan yang menyebabkan anggota koperasi berhimpun adalah bagi produsen adanya keinginan menawarkan barang dengan harga setinggi mungkin, bagi konsumen adanya keinginan untuk memperoleh barang sebaikbaiknya dengan harga serendah-rendahnya, dan bagi usaha kecil adanya keinginan mendapatkan modal usaha dengan seringan-ringannya serta keinginan mempertahankan diri, karena hanya mungkin bersaing dengan perusahaan besar bila mengadakan usaha bersama.

Berdasarkan tujuan yang hendak dicapai, perkumpulan koperasi dapat dibedakan menjadi koperasi konsumsi, koperasi produksi, dan koperasi simpan pinjam.

a. Koperasi Konsumsi

Koperasi konsumsi bertujuan menyediakan bagi anggotanya berbagai barang konsumsi dengan harga serendah mungkin dan kualitas sebaik mungkin. Sebagian besar laba atau sisa hasil usaha akhir tahun buku dibagi antara anggota menurut perbandingan jumlah pembelian masing-masing. Namun biasanya laba tidak dibagikan kepada anggota, melainkan dijadikan cadangan untuk memperbesar modal usaha. Contoh koperasi konsumsi adalah KPRI (Koperasi Pegawai Republik Indonesia).

b. Koperasi Produksi

Koperasi produksi bertujuan menjalankan usaha bersama dan merupakan himpunan orang yang menghasilkan barang yang sama, yang akan diolah dalam perusahaan yang mereka dirikan sebagai bahan baku untuk produksi selanjutnya. Koperasi produksi pertama-tama didirikan di Prancis atas anjuran Louis Blanc. Koperasi produksi banyak terdapat di sektor pertanian, peternakan, dan perikanan, selain itu di Indonesia juga banyak terdapat di sektor kerajinan dan industri kecil. Contoh koperasi produksi adalah koperasi tahu tempe dan koperasi batik.

c. Koperasi Kredit (Koperasi Simpan Pinjam)

Anggota koperasi kredit menyerahkan jumlah uang yang belum mereka perlukan kepada perkumpulan, yang menyelenggarakan pembelian kredit secara efektif kepada anggota yang membutuhkan. Bila hendak bekerja atas dasar koperasi sangat besar jumlahnya dan jumlah kredit harus kurang dari jumlah uang simpanan.

Model badan usaha koperasi adalah model yang paling cocok dengan perekonomian dan budaya di Indonesia. Jenis-jenis koperasi yang lain adalah sebagai berikut.

1) Koperasi jasa, adalah koperasi yang hanya memiliki dan mengelola unit usaha pelayanan jasa. Misalnya koperasi yang bergerak dalam bidang angkutan.

2) Koperasi pemasaran, yaitu koperasi yang kegiatannya mengelola pemasaran produk dari para anggotanya.

3) Koperasi serba usaha, yaitu koperasi yang usahanya meliputi beberapa unit usaha.

Berikut adalah beberapa prinsip koperasi yang harus menjadi acuan usaha perkoperasian.

1) Keanggotaan bersifat sukarela dan terbuka.

2) Pengelolaan dilakukan secara demokratis.

3) Pembagian sisa hasil usaha dilakukan secara adil sebanding dengan besarnya jasa usaha masing-masing anggota.

4) Pemberian balas jasa terbatas pada modal.

5) Kemandirian.

Adapun modal koperasi berasal dari sumber-sumber berikut.

1) Simpanan pokok adalah simpanan yang dibayarkan seseorang pada saat mendaftarkan diri menjadi anggota koperasi.

2) Simpanan wajib adalah simpanan yang dibayarkan pada waktu dan besaran yang telah ditetapkan.

3) Simpanan sukarela adalah jenis simpanan yang waktu dan besarnya tidak ditentukan.

Fungsi koperasi adalah sebagai berikut.

1) Sebagai alat perjuangan ekonomi untuk mempertinggi kesejahteraan rakyat.

2) Sebagai alat pendemokrasian nasional.

3) Sebagai salah satu urat nadi perekonomian bangsa Indonesia.

4) Sebagai alat memperkokoh kedudukan ekonomi bangsa Indonesia.
