She : subject
Was : auxiliary verb
Tired : adverb of manner

(WRONG)
There are no subject and verb in the sentence. This sentence just have an object preposition. So we have to put the subject : I/you/we/they or she/he/it and auxiliary verb. So the correct sentence is :
I am in the office of the building across the street from the park on the corner.
I : subject
Am : auxiliary verb

1.Mark Twain ____the years after the Civil War the “Gilded Age.”
This sentence has subject which is Mark Twain, but there is no verb here. So look the answer :
A. Called. A is the best answer, because called is the verb for past tense, “the years after” explain a past time.
B. He called. “He” is a subject. In that sentence there already have a subject (Mark Twain). So B is incorrect.
C. Calling. Call+ing is a verb for present tense.
D. His calls. “His” is a possessive pronoun. “Calls” is verb for simple present tense, not suitable for this sentence.
So the best anwer to complete this sentence is A.
